The University of the Arts "Purchase Exhibition" Hashimoto's work exhibition has ended.

At the "Purchasing Exhibition" Geidai Collection Exhibition 2023 held at the University Art Museum, Tokyo University of the Arts, Hashimoto's works that were purchased for his graduation work in 1991 from the Faculty of Design Science were exhibited for the first time in 32 years. Ta.

This is a sculpture made of Merbau, a hard and heavy South Sea wood.

The pedestal is made of iron and was welded at my father's friend's ironworks near my parents' home in Tsurumi, Yokohama.

Now that I think about it, I am really grateful that they used such a thick iron plate.

At the time, the design department at the University of the Arts was too small to produce large, heavy works, so I built a shed outside the school building by assembling pipes and hoisting it up. (There are also some photos from that time)

The name of the work is ``Manifestation of space and time,'' and I think it led to the current name of the laboratory, ``Design Embody.''

I also really like the work that I made before making this book, which I still have on hand.

Thank you to everyone who came to visit us.

The photo was taken by my university classmate Kazuto Ishida.

Production location in 1991. This is where the scaffolding was removed in order to receive a review.

A work produced as a prototype before this work (produced in the same Yonematsu as the work selected and produced at the Odawara outdoor sculpture exhibition in 1990)
